Why Confidence is Key

Updated: Dec 24, 2023

The last thing that should be standing in the way of what you want for your career is the confidence you have in yourself. And yet it is one of the major stumbling blocks many of you and countless of my other clients have shared with me as the reason they have not taking action…. Changing jobs Asking for a raise Changing career Leaving a broken relationship Saying no...... to anything! Hell, even buying a pair of shoes you absolutely love and can afford! And why is that? It’s because so many of us are constantly looking for validation of who we are from others. We haven’t taken the time to really understand and accept ourselves, to really own our likes and dislikes, to embrace what we are brilliant at and own up to what we are not, and most importantly to know what we want and have the courage to say it and go for it without the fear and worry of what other people think or might say.

Confidence is about trusting yourself implicitly.

It’s about trusting who you are because you know who you are. You trust your choices because you know who you are. You trust your competence because you know who you are. You trust what to have say, so you are happy to be seen and heard because you know who you are …. I think you get the gist.

Confidence is about so many things but at it's heart is the trust and acceptance of who we are.

The Creating the Career You Want Programme is built on this premise. When you are confident about who you are, your self-esteem will be through the roof. You'll realize the amazing depth and breadth of skills and strengths you have. You have a clear sense of your own value and worth. You can make decisions, take action, be proactive, in control of your own career and life because you believe in yourself. Everything we do in this program ensures that by the end of it, you're not only confident about what you can and want to do, you are confident about who you are. My confidence comes from knowing who I am, and I know who I am because I have done and continue to do the work. From starting my career as a statistician and diligently working my way up to executive level, To burning out, developing chronic fatigue, not being able to work properly for 6 years and nearly losing everything. From focusing on trying to recover by retraining as a yoga teacher, to becoming the first black woman to appear on the cover of yoga magazine anywhere in the world and developing a small ground-breaking award nominated business, that has spawned a whole industry of lookalikes. From realising through working with women on their health and wellbeing that they needed so much more than my support on the mat, to training as a coach and working with 1000’s of clients to transform their careers and lives.

I trust myself.

I am telling you this about myself because I want you to know the journey to offering this programme to you did not happen overnight. My passion is the women I work with, and I bring to that work every ounce of knowledge, experience and training that 20 plus years of corporate experience and 17 more of working with people to transform their careers and lives brings. And I’m still learning as I move towards completing a Masters in Executive Coaching. Not because I had to but because I wanted to.

I am confident in me. I want you to be confident in you.

Because I hope you can see that once you start on that road everything and anything is possible, and I want you to believe that anything and everything is possible for you.

Confidence comes from knowing who you are.
